Built around the layout Team Sky mechanics helped develop: a nine-pocket hanging pallet, a fixed upper pallet with a Velcro pouch for small items, and a divided base for full-size tools. This is the previous-generation Pro Kit case sold empty, with shielded double-throw latches, lockable lug holes, and an IP67 shell that keeps tools dry.

The Pro Kit Tool Case (970PROKIT) is the foundation case of the previous-generation Pro Kit, sold separately for mechanics who already own a tool inventory and want to migrate it into a kit-grade storage system. The case fits a full mobile race-team service spread in a compact format, with intentional spare capacity for the brand-specific tools a particular fleet adds.

The 970PROKIT case was originally co-developed with mechanics at the Team Sky service course. The pocket-and-tray layout reflects how a working mechanic actually finds tools at speed.

What the case carries

  • Hanging pallet: 9 pockets sized for pliers, side cutters, combination wrenches, or hex sets.
  • Fixed upper pallet with wings: holds screwdrivers, hexes, pens and markers, and a Velcro-closed pouch for small items that otherwise drift to the bottom of the case (spoke wrenches, threadlock, cable ends).
  • Divided base: large enough for cassette lockring tools, the cassette wrench, a hammer, and similar full-size tools, with a fixed divider so the contents do not shift in transport.

Case features

  • Double-throw latches that are shielded so they will not catch on car-trunk hardware or open mid-transit
  • Lockable lug holes accept a padlock for travel security
  • Strap-loop holes accept a shoulder strap (sold separately) when the case is loaded out for race day
  • IP67 rated for waterproofing; tools stay dry in the rain so long as the case is closed and latched

Specs

  • Empty case version of the previous-generation Pro Kit
  • Hanging pallet, fixed upper pallet, divided base
  • Designed and tested in conjunction with Team Sky mechanics
  • Lockable lug points and shoulder-strap mounting
  • Waterproof and dust-resistant

Includes: the case, hanging pallet, fixed upper pallet with Velcro pouch, divided base. Tools sold separately.

Built in Zreče, Slovenia

Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče, Slovenia, since 1919, and is the official technical partner of multiple World Tour and downhill teams. The Pro Kit case is the format that travels in team cars and on the rim of the World Cup feed zone; sold separately for mechanics who want the case without the configured tool set.

Pro tip from our mechanics

If the workshop is standardizing on the current-generation 2.0 kits, the Pro Kit Tool Case 2.0 is the matching newer case with the hangout pallet. The 970PROKIT (this case) is the right answer when the workshop has been running on the previous-generation Pro Kit format and the case is what wore out first.

From the press

The waterproof, lockable case features a pair of swing out wings (that velcro the tools securely in place when closed) and a flat panel with hooks to hang over the side of a work top, each with pockets designed to secure a wide range of tools.
