Fazua's Ride 60 is the compact mid-drive system that sits on the lightweight e-road side of the market, designed to add pedal assist without the mass that full-power e-MTB systems carry. The Ride 60's chainring mounts to the motor's output spindle via a 16-notch chainring lockring whose engagement is specific to Fazua's spindle geometry. No other manufacturer's lockring tool fits.
The 1724.FR60 is the lockring tool sized for that specific pattern. CNC-machined aluminum, red-anodized so it doesn't get lost in a shop's tool drawer, and sized to engage the Ride 60 chainring lockring's 16-notch outer profile without rocking play.
How it's used
Seat the tool's notched cup over the Fazua chainring lockring's outer face so all 16 notches mesh fully. The 1/2" square drive at the tool body accepts a torque wrench for the install torque Fazua publishes for the chainring lockring (verify the value against current Fazua service documentation before applying torque; Fazua updates their published values periodically). Apply load slowly; the lockring loosens or tightens cleanly when the engagement is full.
Compatibility
- Fazua Ride 60 drive units (compact mid-drive, lightweight e-road systems)
- Fazua chainring lockrings at the Ride 60 16-notch outer profile
- Not for older Fazua drive unit generations with different lockring patterns; verify drive unit model before applying torque
- Not for Shimano STEPS, Bosch, Yamaha, Brose, or Bafang motors

Built in Zreče
Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče since 1919, and is the official technical partner of multiple World Tour and downhill teams. The Ride 60 tool covers the lightweight e-road end of the e-bike market, a category that's been growing on the IBD channel as more riders adopt mid-power assist on road and gravel bikes alongside the full-power e-MTB segment. The precision-machined fit keeps both the tool and the lockring serviceable across the lifecycle of a Fazua-equipped bike.
Pro tip from our mechanics
Fazua's Ride 60 spindle thread is fine-pitched compared to a standard BB; cross-threading the chainring lockring during reinstall is the most common service mistake the workshop sees. Start the lockring by hand, turn it down by hand until it's seated against the chainring face, and only then apply torque-wrench load. If the lockring resists hand-turning before it's seated, back it off and clean the threads; forcing a cross-threaded lockring with a wrench damages the spindle threads, which is a motor-replacement conversation Fazua doesn't make easy.
