Permanent workshop installs are a different decision from buying a stand. The base plate that gives a freestanding stand its stability is dead weight once the column is bolted to the floor: it consumes floor space that a wall, a tool tray, or a second stand could use better. The Single Arm Pro Repair Stand, Floor Mount strips the base plate from the 1693BS Pro Repair Stand and ships you the column-and-clamp side only, ready to anchor directly to a concrete or hardwood shop floor.

The stand body, the riser tube, the clamp, the height adjustment, and the jaw covers are all identical to the 1693BS we sell with a base plate. The Manual Adjust Lever and Pro Shop Clamp options carry over; so do the replaceable rubber jaw covers (Unior 1693.11). What you give up is portability and quick relocation. What you gain is a stand that doesn't shift under a hard pedal-pull, a clear floor under and around the column, and a permanent location for your tool tray, parts bin, or laptop holder.

Compatibility

The Floor Mount variant uses the same column geometry as the 1693BS, so accessories built for the standard Pro Repair Stand drop on without adapters: the 1693.3-US Tool Tray, the 1693.16 Tool Tray Collar, the replaceable jaw covers, and either clamp head.

Built in Zreče, Slovenia

Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče since 1919, and is the official technical partner of multiple World Tour and downhill teams. A floor-mounted stand is a workshop permanence decision; we make the 1693BS1 because the calls we get from shops that already own the freestanding version are almost always to ask whether they can buy the column on its own. The answer is yes, and the column is the same column.

Pro tip from our mechanics

A permanent floor mount changes the workshop geometry; once the stand is bolted, the tool tray, parts bin, and lighting can all be located relative to it instead of moved with it. The freestanding-vs-floor-mount decision is the one most shops make wrong on the first try; here's how to think about it: How to choose a bike repair stand →
