The Shop Pro Road Stand (1693RP) is the road-mechanic's stationary answer: the same Pro Road Stand geometry that travels in team service trucks, anchored to a 30 kg steel base plate sized for shop use. Where the 5.1 kg Pro Road Stand (1693R) trades stability for portability, the 1693RP trades portability for the rigidity a workshop bench needs when an aero-road or TT bike is on the stand for a full fit session.
The road-specific stand mounts the bike at the bottom-bracket area rather than clamping a frame tube. The mount geometry was developed in coordination with the team service mechanics now riding as Ineos Grenadiers, where the trade-off was clear: deep aero seatposts and TT-bike geometry are the wrong shape for a clamp-style stand, so the stand had to support the bike from the cockpit-area instead. The 1693RP keeps that mounting approach and pairs it with a base mass heavy enough that the stand doesn't drift while the mechanic dials in a saddle position or torques an integrated cockpit.
Adjustments
- Height: scales from a 5′0″ mechanic working at hip height to a 6′5″ mechanic working at chest height without crouching or stretching.
- Fore-aft: dials in the bike's stand position relative to the mechanic's bench reach. Useful for shop layouts where the stand sits in a fixed position relative to a wall or a tool wall.
- X-axis rotation: at the column, frees up working space in cramped service bays.
- Z-axis rotation: at the bike support, swings the bike for back-side access without unmounting.
- Y-axis rotation: at the bike, lets the mechanic access the bike's underside for cable routing or hidden-brake service.
The five adjustment axes are why the 1693RP works for fit sessions and aero-bike service the way the standard tripod stand doesn't; the bike can be presented to the mechanic in whatever orientation the job needs.

Built in Zreče, Slovenia
Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče since 1919, and is the official technical partner of multiple World Tour and downhill teams. The Pro Road Stand line is one of the catalog items most directly shaped by team-mechanic feedback; the bottom-bracket-area mount was a response to a specific problem (the aero-seatpost-versus-frame-clamp incompatibility), and the 1693RP is what happens when the same mount takes its place in a shop bay rather than a service truck.
Pro tip from our mechanics
The 1693RP is the right call for road-only or road-plus-gravel shops where the mix is enough TT and aero bikes that a clamp-style stand becomes the constraint. For shops doing mixed-bike service (road, mountain, e-bike), the standard 1693 single-arm stand with a Pro Shop Clamp covers the mix and the 1693RP is overkill. The five-axis adjustability is what justifies the 1693RP's premium over the tripod stand: if you're doing a lot of fit work or aero-bike service, those axes pay back; if not, they're parked. Sizing the right stand for your shop's actual mix is the upstream decision; the buying guide makes it concrete: How to choose a bike repair stand →
