The 45/2DP is a bottle opener that's also a real Unior tool. Same laser-cut tool steel construction that goes into the chain wear gauges and the master-link pliers, same double-dipped ergonomic handle treatment as the rest of the Unior workshop hand-tool family. The result is a workshop accessory that sits next to the rest of the tools on a pegboard without looking like it wandered in from the gift-shop catalog.

The working profile is cut from tool steel by laser. Laser cutting is the same construction process Unior uses across the chain-tools and brake-tools lines where dimensional precision matters: the cut face itself becomes the reference geometry of the tool. On a bottle opener, the practical version of that precision is that the lip catches the cap consistently and the body doesn't deform after years of bench use.

The double-dipped handle wraps the steel core in a two-stage cushioned grip. It's the same handle program that's on the workshop hand-tool line, sized for the bottle-opener body. The hanging hole at the end of the handle is sized to fit on a standard pegboard hook; workshop storage, not kitchen-drawer storage.

Built by a tool company

Unior has been forging hand tools in Zreče, Slovenia, since 1919, and is the official technical partner of multiple World Tour and downhill teams. The 45/2DP is one of the smaller items in the workshop catalog, and one of the few that sits comfortably on either side of the line between “tool” and “gear.” The laser-cut tool steel construction is the same process used on the Chain Wear Indicator 1644/6, the Master Link Pliers 1720/4DP, and the Rotor Truing Fork 2.0. The bottle opener gets the same construction-process choice.

Pro tip from our mechanics

The 45/2DP is the workshop version of a bottle opener; pegboard-stored, full-handle, tool-steel body. The keychain-sized version is the Mini Bottle Opener 45/2A, which is the right call if you want one in your pocket rather than on the wall. Reward yourself with a cold drink when work's done.
